"Transforming International Development: The Theory and Practice of Addressing Global Poverty and Hunger"
History demonstrates that change is ever-present. Participants in the 2005 AIARD Meeting will gain historical perspectives regarding participation of private and public American institutions in international development. We will reflect upon successes and failures, and we will discuss the dynamic landscape of regional and global forces that influence the effectiveness of strategies to enhance the welfare and future of the worldÌs poor. Then, looking forward, we will consider new-millennium issues that are crucial factors in paradigms for international agriculture and rural development in the 21st century. |
