Reed Hertford is an economist who has devoted 40 years to international agriculture and rural development through research, teaching, and administration. He has been a farmer, a USDA staffer, a program officer of a major U.S. foundation, a professor and director of international agricultural programs, the head of a U.S. university consortium, a deputy director general of a multilateral organization, Board Chair of an international agricultural research center, President of AIARD, and (now) a full-time consultant, based on Cape Cod.
