AIARD Communications Committee

The AIARD Communications Committee is the voice of the association. In 2008/9, the AIARD newsletter will continue to be the primary avenue for disseminating information from AIARD leadership and members to the entire membership. The electronic newsletter will highlights current issues in international agriculture and rural development as well as the activities, projects and partnerships managed by its members. AIARD members who have news to share are encouraged to routinely report their activities to the Committee, via e-mail to Stephanie Curs at , in order to increase the awareness of the accomplishments and impacts our association community is achieving domestically and internationally.

In addition to the newsletter, the Communications Committee will work alongside the Executive Committee and other AIARD committees to develop communications mechanisms to announce AIARD projects, activities and initiatives.

Lastly, the 2008/9 Communications Committee will develop an AIARD communications strategy for the forthcoming year. The Communications Strategy will outline ways in which to best communicate information to not only current members, but also to potential members (in the U.S. and abroad) and others external to the association.
